Shop Order Tracking accepts the input of shop order information eithermanually or from the MRP order release function. If shop routings are inthe system for the ordered items, operation records by work center arecreated. Shop Order Tracking includes an operation-by-operationscheduling function using both backward and forward schedulingtechniques. The scheduling function computes workload by work center andprepares detailed capacity and I/O control data and dispatch lists.Shop Order Tracking maintains and tracks orders by work center, workorder, and job. It also maintains standard, current, and actual costs forlabor and overhead. It automatically calculates shop order operationschedules with required material transfers and creates pick lists forassembly. Inventory is automatically updated online. Costs areaccumulated by material, labor, overhead, by operation, and summarizedfor the shop order.
